The NGO Caribbean Development Foundation (The NCDF) was incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. The foundation is a legally registered Charity.
The foundation was incorporated in order to contribute to the development of Non Governmental Organizations and small charities across the Caribbean.
The focus of the NCDF is the development of the NGO and Charity sectors in the Caribbean. Most of the NGOs we work with are in the Human Rights and Women’s Rights Sectors
However we will work with NGOs of all kinds in the region.
The NGO sector in the region is weak due to a lack of resources, labour, skills and adequate support from regional governments.
The NCDF‘s main focus is building the internal capacity of NGOs in the region. As such we facilitate the creation of work plans, campaign strategies and the implementation of regional campaigns.
As part of our development initiative we intend to lobby regional governments to create the necessary infrastructure around the sector that will encourage the growth of the sector.
The NCDF also initiates its own campaigns on issues, We feel strongly about and choose to work on.
